@RobertLeRoyPar6 @For_Film_Fans Interesting. I have never heard of this film. Will have to watch for it.

@For_Film_Fans Saw this a few weeks ago. Sucks---I have the WB DVD, but it wouldn't play (known problem with older WB DVD's). Still paid $3.99 for it.
"Why can't I go with you?"
"Because I'm gonna get caught".

DUSTIN HOFFMAN is excellent as an ex-con trying to go straight in L.A. in this neo-noir crime thriller that Netflix couldn’t make a tenth as good today for $250squillion.

@screenrant That’s because production was rushed. There’s another season of Starfleet Academy and two seasons of Strange New Worlds to come out. We’ll be good for a while yet.

For the first time in nearly a decade, there is no new #StarTrek TV series in production, or even greenlit by Paramount+. 😢

#NeverForget that Michael Mann had been working on HEAT (1995) since the late ‘70s and shot what is essentially a “rough draft” as the made for TV movie, L.A. TAKEDOWN which aired on NBC August 27, 1989 intended to be a pilot for a weekly series.

@Simon_Ingari This should not be in an email or letter. It should be in a discussion.

How to Politely Reject a Low-Salary Offer?
Dealing with job offers can get tricky, especially when their salary doesn't match what you were hoping for. It's important to handle situations like this with professionalism and courtesy.
Here's a template to help you nicely turn down a low-salary offer while keeping the door open for future opportunities.

@ClassicSpyChic This series was sensational, from start to finish.

Highly recommend “The Americans.” Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys put on an absolute acting masterclass.

Happy 50th birthday, Keri Russell!

@isaac_saas I don’t understand. ‘Manslaughter’ but the victim survived?

We listed our old house for rent 3 days ago. This morning I got my first ever call from a potential tenant. My very first one. I wish I was joking.
"Hi, I have a couple questions about your listing."
"Ok, fire away..."
"I have an ongoing medical malpractice case and was wondering if it was okay if I pay the whole year up front because I'm not working."
"Umm.. yeah, I think that would be ok? I don't see why not... I'm guessing that's why you're not working? If it's confidential, that's fine, just curious..."
"Yeah, that's why... it has to do with my foot and I can't work."
"Ok, what other questions do you have?"
"Do you have any dog restrictions? We have a 10 year old pitbull... she's my childhood dog... she's so sweet... never had any issues with her."
"Ummm... I think the HOA has restrictions on that breed." (Idk if they do, I just made that up)
"Ok, just let me know. Next question. I do have a felony on my record for vehicular manslaughter. The person survived and ended up with only a broken collarbone... and umm... my dad would be living with me, he's my caregiver, he also has a felony on his record but he already did his time. It was his first felony and will be his last felonly."
"Umm..."
"Yeah... I know it's a lot going on but I don't have any evictions or anything... but I did break a lease when I was 18 because I'm a single mom and well, um... some things we're going on and I was just in mommy mode... but I'm about to pay all that off once I get this medical malpractice money."
"Umm... we have a few other applications we're going to review and I'll get back to you."
I think I'm going to sell the house.

This is something else. A restaurant that would charge extra for: Silverware insurance? Booth fee? Straws? Table cleaning fee? I'm surprised they didn't add a fee for printing the flippin' receipt! And then they have the audacity to add the tip in the bill as well and leave room for another tip on top of that!
This is clearly a prank! It has to be! But if it wasn't, what would your reaction be to seeing a bill like this come to your table? 😏😬

@HumanityChad I did that once. Wallet was on trunk. They did not appear grateful.

@TheCinesthetic Unlike Breaking Bad, I was unhappy with the ending.
English

Better Call Saul (2015–2022) pulls off the rarest trick. It sticks the ending. Lands every character beat, closes the loop with purpose, and locks its place among the best television ever made.

If you haven’t watched LOST because you heard from someone that “the ending sucks” you’re missing out on one of the greatest TV experiences ever created.

@AlexTran677026 It would be great if this was available to watch somewhere on streaming.

Before "Heat," Michael Mann directed "L.A. Takedown" (1989), a TV movie with an almost identical plot to the 90s classic, but with a much smaller budget. Although "L.A. Takedown" is inferior to its definitive 1995 version, the shootout in downtown Los Angeles is very well done and demonstrates Michael Mann's great skill in filming action scenes.

Best shootout scene in a movie ever?
English

That scene in Lost (2004–2010) when Sawyer tells Jack about the stranger he met in a Sydney bar… only for Jack to realize it was his father’s final night alive. That’s when it hits this show is playing a much bigger game.

@TheMonologist Kick-ass theme song. Terrific villains. Great script. Awesome climax. Yeah, yeah totally agree Tanya was too young BUT it is a Bond film after all-and since it’s Roger Moore, it’s one of my favourites of the Connery/Moore/Dalton/Brosnan films.

@BillHuntBits @thedigitalbits I really liked the opening scene on this. The rest of the movie, not so much.

Just a head up: Chuck Russell’s ERASER (1996) is now starting to appear on various online retail sites for 4K Ultra HD Steelbook pre-order. Street date is TBA, but I’m told it’s likely to be 6/16 (or thereabouts). @thedigitalbits
