@SeanDooley26319 @BuckeyeTy28 In this day in age, you may be right. Indiana struck gold with Cignetti and then decided to throw big boy money around. Unfortunately I don't think Purdue will ever be one of the big spenders even though they obviously have the money to compete.

Made some dumb mistakes as a kid (as all kids do), went to college for a couple years, started a company 14 years ago that now does almost 2 mil in revenue a year and employees 11 people. I may not be the most intelligent, but I think I'm doing fairly well in life.

College coaches do not want to give players guaranteed contracts. Coaches didn’t even want to give players guaranteed 4 years academic scholarships. Coaches cut players whenever they choose, yet players should be restricted when they want to leave on their own. Makes no sense.

There's disincentive to leave in every profession. Pro athletes have buyouts. Coaches have buyouts. Most industries have non-competes. Making transfers sit a year isn't the answer. But transfer fees? That might work, and it would give mid-majors some money to go out and add players/retain them. Buyouts written into multi-year contracts would help too, especially if schools actually have the balls to enforce them.
