If you perform in sprint-based events for track and field, your nervous system needs to be fresh to perform at optimal levels. The reason why it's not good to do activities like ROTC physical training or weight lifting on competition days is because your CNS requires at least 24 hours to recover before you can sprint at your best.
Don't be afraid to have a conversation and always be respectful. We all want you to excel, not just make minor improvements.
