A full life is a gift. A career in golf is a privilege. Having my story told is a humbling honour. My heart is full—full of gratitude for those who brought this documentary to life and full of love for the people who made the journey so extraordinary. You start out just wanting to win that first tournament. Then one day, you look back and realize the journey of a champion became something far greater than trophies or titles. This is my story… of how a young boy from Africa dared to conquer the world.

Many congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau on a magnificent and thrilling victory here in South Africa! What a spectacle for the game of golf. To watch two of the world’s finest competitors going head-to-head in a playoff is exactly the kind of drama that lifts our sport and captivates fans at the course and around the globe. But I must say, it fills my heart with tremendous pride to see South Africa hosting such a world-class event. This is a nation with a deep love for the game, a country that has produced champions, and a place where the spirit of golf runs strong. To showcase our beautiful land, our passionate supporters, and our rich golfing heritage on the world stage is something truly special. I was also delighted to see the Southern Guards perform so admirably, coming so close to securing the team title. They represented themselves, and South Africa, with great distinction. Just as the Nedbank Golf Challenge does, I have no doubt this event will also help inspire the next generation of young South Africans to pick up a club and dream big. GP

My father worked so hard to give me a proper education. And once I turned professional, he told me that, and it stuck with me, was to make sure to always sign autographs with care and ensure my signature was legible. Arnold was remarkable with signing autographs and was adamant that it was our duty to give back to those that make our game possible, the fans. GP

When I was given the opportunity to design Mission Hills North, my goal was very simple: honour the desert and create a course that would challenge the mind as much as the swing. The Coachella Valley is a magnificent canvas. With the San Jacinto Mountains framing the horizon and the natural desert landscape shaping the terrain, I wanted the golf course to feel as though it had always belonged there. We worked with the existing contours of the land, allowing the routing to unfold naturally, creating wide, generous fairways that reward good positioning and thoughtful strategy. Water plays a significant role in the design, touching many of the holes and asking the golfer to make clear decisions. Risk and reward are central themes throughout the round, particularly on the finishing hole, where courage and precision are equally important. A great finishing hole should ask a question of the player and the 18th at Mission Hills North certainly does. GP

Arnold played golf the way one should live their life, with boldness and conviction. He was never afraid to take on a shot that others might hesitate to attempt. That aggressive spirit forced everyone around him, including me, to think carefully about how we approached competition. It is indeed an honour for all the professionals this week to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational to keep his spirit alive. Arnold will forever mean so much to our game. GP

My condolences to the family of Lou Holtz. No doubt he was a man of great passion who inspired many to strive for greatness. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life was uncanny. The world will surely miss Lou and we were all blessed to have been touched by his spirit. A legendary coach, family man, and golfer. GP

Many congratulations to Casey Jarvis on a fantastic South African Open victory. No doubt to win your own country’s National Championship is a tremendous acheivment. Though our nation is relatively small, we produce top talent year in and year out. I’m excited to see what you can do on the world stage. My very best. GP

How do you play a plugged lie?  I have always found that closing the clubface and hitting steeply down on the ball has always been the best way to create some kind of consistency in a typically inconsistent lie. PS, be aware of the topspin GP #pxgtroops

A strong core is the engine of a powerful golf swing. If you want balance, speed and longevity in this game, you must train your center every day. GP

Technology in golf is incredible. Hybrids have been an incredible development for golf and have certainly allowed me to maintain a high level of golf as I have got older. Absolutely loving my PXG hybrids. GP #PXGTroops
