A full life is a gift. A career in golf is a privilege. Having my story told is a humbling honour. My heart is full—full of gratitude for those who brought this documentary to life and full of love for the people who made the journey so extraordinary. You start out just wanting to win that first tournament. Then one day, you look back and realize the journey of a champion became something far greater than trophies or titles. This is my story… of how a young boy from Africa dared to conquer the world.

Many congratulations to Ryan Fox on an outstanding victory and becoming Champion Golfer of the Year! The Open once again reminded us why golf is so special, where for Ryan, years of hard work, sacrifice and perseverance can culminate in one quick, life-changing putt at age 39. He was ready for his moment, and the 72nd hole was a masterclass in precision, courage and determination. I know his family is so very proud he is bringing home the Claret Jug. A superb 154th at Royal Birkdale. Well done to the R&A and everyone involved. GP

Watching this Djokovic vs. Sinner match at Wimbledon was nothing short of inspiring. Even though Novak didn’t win, what he has accomplished throughout his career deserves the admiration of every sports fan. At 39 years of age, he continues to compete at the highest level through extraordinary discipline, determination and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The 24 Grand Slam titles speak for themselves, and one can only wonder how many more he may have won had circumstances not interrupted some of the finest years of his career. His journey from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of world sport is a powerful reminder that greatness is earned, never given. It is a story that young people should study for generations. The older I become, the greater my appreciation for just how demanding tennis is on the body. It certainly makes me grateful that I chose golf! To perform at this level at his age is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the importance of looking after your body. Novak has shown the world that proper nutrition, fitness and healthy living are not simply for athletes, they are investments in a better, longer life where you can truly live. I also have always admired the traditions of Wimbledon. The dress code, the respect for the game and its history, and the sportsmanship create an atmosphere of timeless class. And finally, congratulations to @ROLEX. Few companies have supported excellence in sport around the world with such consistency and elegance. Their commitment to preserving the great traditions of competition while celebrating the pursuit of excellence is something I have long admired.

Many congratulations to Wyndham Clark on a superb, wire to wire US Open victory at Shinnecock. There are few accomplishments in golf that compare to winning your country’s National Championship and this course demands every aspect of a player’s game. The night before the 1965 U.S. Open, I was in the gym. This was a regular occurrence before the start of any tournament because I felt exercising gave me an edge. GP

By the mid 1960s, Jack and I were both chasing the career Grand Slam. Only Gene Sarazen and Ben Hogan had completed this feat.  I really needed the money so had planned to play in Greensborough the week before the US Open but Jack convinced me to go with him to Bellerive to practice. I reluctantly went with Jack to Bellerive and the rest is history. GP
