Words cannot describe how bad this is🤡 This is the Deputy Mayor of London for crime and policing, salary £148,000 a year. Her job is to oversee the police, deliver the crime plan & cut crime. I’m not even joking!

@EricOlson18 No correction needed, I think we were always 'singing from the same song sheet'. Like you I also anticipate the inevitable counterpoint on spurious legal concepts. Have a good evening.

@GaryTMartin2 Yea it would be deemed reasonable legally due to the context of the situation. I fully agree with that. I shoulda said controversy more so in public perception, not legally. You're right, the Cops would not get charged in any Western Country I can think of. I stand corrected.

Wow, in a very unusual step the Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has sent a blistering letter to Green Party leader Zack Polanski saying he shouldn’t be retweeting “armchair critics” who criticised officers for kicking the Golders Green attacker in the head.
Metropolitan Police@metpoliceuk

“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.” Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.

@EricOlson18 Totally agree with your first paragraph and my only observation, re the second, is that it wasn't the time or opportunity to discuss or consider legal nuances until his arms and the weapon were secured, therefore all legally reasonable in the circumstances.

@Exp13Sa @MeganA10351 @PaulBrandITV @metpoliceuk They had the right to shoot him dead until he dropped knife. So they definitely had the right to head kick him when he hid his hands under his torso while laying on knife. The only controversy legally is that he had just been tased,&maybe didn't have control over his arms.

@PaulBrandITV Must have seen Polanski's policies. Effective elimination of immigration controls. No prison expansion, with a long term aim for a switch to almost total community punishments. Legalisation of all Cat A+B Drugs, reducing mental health detention with patient autonomy increased!

@lauraev81180802 @PaulBrandITV Yeah, Nigel Farage's 2 former wives and current partner are Europeans, so he could never be anti European, could he? It is of course possible to both embrace and at times fail to support aspects of the same thing.

@ClarkeMicah While you are there, ask why it takes a month to do a simple probation report for court, or 5 plus years for a public enquiry, nearly a year to sort out Angela Rayners stamp duty and even 28 months to charge Lucy Letby. No guarantee of satisfactory results of course.

@EloiseHenrietta @ClarkeMicah It was an independent sovereign country when you annexed it, after supporting a coup organised by US sugar interests. Cleveland to his credit tried to reverse it but the US later aligned with the new leader Dole and took it as a territory. A possession like the spoils of a thief.

@harper_dyl66271 @JulianTyer73060 @TiceRichard A bigoted, angry and frustrated person, shouting that they want the national flag shoved in your derrière, elicits a polite and respectful response from the target of her ire. Calling her a “bitch” because she’s angry and frustrated doesn’t make you right... it just makes you part of the problem. The country is deeply polarised right now, and people are boiling over for good reason. Years of broken promises, failing services, and politicians who seem completely out of touch. Directing all that rage at one random woman in a petrol station is aiming at the wrong target. We’re better than this. Stay confused 😵‍💫 They like it that way !

@stoopidminidisc @ClarkeMicah Addicts are not helpless. They still retain autonomy and it is not a certainty that their cravings will always defeat their own choices. A testiment to this is that many people have stopped using drugs of all types and even more decided to avoid them in the first place.

@afneil UN committees aren’t awarded based on moral virtue. Seats are allocated by regional rotation and political bargaining. You regularly get states with poor records sitting on human-rights bodies.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has just been nominated to the UN Committee for Programme and Coordination to shape policy on women's rights, human rights, disarmament and terrorism prevention. The British government, of course, did not object to Iran’s appointment — even though the Iranian regime has been massacring thousands and thousands of protestors this year. At least it shows satire is not dead. NEXT UP> Satan nominated to investigate sin.
