Why are you not demanding protection for Palestinian villagers @HFalconerMP ? Why are you so vocal on the suffering of Ukrainians @Keir_Starmer yet completely silent on oppression of Palestinians? It was British policy 1917-1948 that led to this appalling ethnic cleansing today.

Today, masked Israeli settlers armed with clubs attacked Palestinian farmers while they were working their land near the villages of Kafr Qaddum and Beit Lid in the West Bank. Palestinians urgently need international protection.

Well, now the dust has settled and the Chancellor is back, turns out it was right. Only £600m in deals from her China trip. It’s farcical bordering on the unbelievable. The Chinese were just playing with her.

Surely this cannot be right? Chancellor Rachel Reeves is describing her China trip as a 'significant milestone' in re-engagement with Beijing, saying she has agreed deals worth £600m to the UK economy. If that’s it, it wasn’t worth the journey. For China it’s not even small change. It’s not that much for UK either — we’re a £2.7 trillion plus economy! And it’s £600m over five years. So a piddling £120m a year. The NHS spends that of a morning. These things are always settled in advance. If that is truly all that was on offer she should never have gone. Unless the full picture has yet to be revealed, she really has come back empty handed.
