I've been running some interesting data analytics projects on FFXIV. I am an extreme gil maker and that dates back to 2.0 by having the maximum number of retainers and I crank out crafter scrips in mass. There are so many questions I have always thought I had the answer to: - How Many Retainers of each type is ideal - What Purple or Orange recipe to target - What to sell once scrips are secured My configuration is all max stats - 3 Botanist - 2 Miner - 3 Hunter - 1 Fisher My home base is Aether, and I have been running some python code to answer this question definitively. I loaded all of the market data into Redis from Universalis of all Scrip and venture items. I scraped all of the wiki sites to regenerate all of the recipes into a data store. I skipped every FFXIV MSQ because I'm always on a mad dash to cap quickly and make bank on gil via crafting and connect the dots later. The one exception was shadowbringers because I was so bored by stormblood that I quit paying attention for awhile and came back during the .4 patch and that expansion msq slapped

@Dreamboum You barely notice. FFXI is far from an ugly game but if you're playing it in 2026 it's not for a graphical experience, it's because it's combat and strategy is exponentially more intricate than FFXIV. I'm an XIV enjoyer but there's a reason why I play XI far more

I'm just learning today the character creator of FF11 (2003) is running on a different engine than the main game so your actual in-game character will be considerably lower-poly to the point of looking barely recognizable

@dreadvwolf I've got 140, most of it came from crafting scrip spamming and buying in demand materia. The best part is collectables don't necessarily need expensive nice gear.

When we get Final Fantasy VII part 3, there absolutely needs to be a deluxe package after the fact with all 3 packaged into one and a complete rescaling of levels. Play the entire thing in one take and keep all weapons + materia from parts 1 and 2. Like heck yeah I want an alternative playthrough where I start part 3 with all of my elemental materia from parts 1 & 2

I've done platinum on 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,10-2,15,16,7Remake,7Rebirth 9 and rebirth were the hardest. If 11 had trophies I'd be platinum 12 is the only 3d one I never finished I'm missing the treasure hunter one on 13 which is just an annoying grind fest I think if I did a little grinding on 14 I'd have that as well.
