Doves Class rose to the challenge during our DT stay and Learn session. The mission was to construct the tallest, sturdiest tower using spaghetti. They worked together to share ideas and showed great resilience when things didn’t quite go to plan. #thegatesdt #resilience

In PE today we continued with our rugby unit 🏉 We started using tag belts to help develop tackling skills safely, focused on running forward and building confidence. #TheGatesPE

In Computing this week, we tested our program, debugged it by correcting errors and then modified our designs. We’re super excited to start designing our own mazes next week! 💻 #TheGatesComputing

Our Commando Joe’s task this week was to design a 21st century city. Some of our ideas were to add solar and wind farms, play parks, green spaces, ‘smart’ traffic lights, conveyor belts, security and a lot of air transport. #TheGatesCommandoJoes

In our PSHE unit on Money, we have been discussing our needs, wants and priorities. #TheGatesPSHE

Court in session! Today, we put forward our cases to explore the meaning of Jesus’ death. The children presented their arguments brilliantly, behaved respectfully in court, and our judges kept order when things got a little lively! Verdicts were delivered at the end. #TheGatesRE

In our outdoor PE session, we continued with our ‘Attack and Defend’ unit focussing on rugby. We watched a short clip of rugby to better understand the sport before we played games in small groups applying quick decisions to support us with defending. #TheGatesPE

In our Computing lessons this week, we created new effects with our pencil and designed our own drawing tool on Scratch. 🖥️ #TheGatesComputing

In Week 2 of our ’Levison Wood’ @CommandoJoes unit, we focussed on developing positivity. We learned about the importance of raising your country’s flag as a symbol of accomplishment before we worked in teams to create our flag. #TheGatesCommandoJoes #TheGatesSMSC
