...these two who doubted the women now went back to the 11 and wanted their testimony to be believed. Why do we think our experiences have more value and validity than others?

An interesting bible reflection, in Luke 24 verse 9 the women reported to the 11 apostles of the risen Christ but "their story seemed like nonsense and they did not believe them." Yet in verse 33-35...

"we are so focused in other directions that we miss it, that God is near and walks with us. If we realized it, how that could change everything, no matter what is happening as we're walking" Sr. Joanne

We are always experiencing our own "Road to Emmaus" whenever we struggle with following God, and yet Jesus comes to us to offer us company and guidance.

The very disciples of Jesus, Cleopas and his partner who were walking to Emmaus, who knew Jesus and scripture, were the ones who did not understand resurrection. May Jesus continue to guide and teach us to truly be transformed by the risen Christ.
