A good description of Nemaha Central the last two seasons. A really good 5A/6A offensive line with 5A/6A size playing at the 2A level with as good of a defense as you'll see at the 2A level. Plus two Hajeks that were unstoppable. #sportsinkansas

Nemaha Central (2A) goes back to back in 2A as they defeat Hoisington, 28-14, on Saturday in Salina. Were dominant all year long behind their powerful offensive line and outstanding defense. The Thunder have won 26 games in a row under HC Michael Glatczak. Since the consolidation in 2014 (Nemaha Valley & Baileyville B&B) they’ve won three state titles. All three titles have been since 2019, with the first one coming in 2019 under Warren Seitz. #sportsinkansas Photo: Dari Hilbert

Michael Glatczak is 32-3 as the head coach of Nemaha Central (2A) since taking over from Warren Seitz in the fall of 2021. He has not lost a football game since week 10 of the 2021 season after winning the state title undefeated in 2022 and going 12-0 so far this season. NC takes on unbeaten Hoisington on Saturday in the 2A state championship in Salina. Fun facts on Glatczak: he had 55 tackles as a senior DB at 5’10” 173-pounds at KU, becoming a starter after walking on to their program from Butler CC. His father was legendary Centralia HC Larry Glatczak who won four state titles as HC for Panthers. Michael was part of two of those state titles & had an incredible career with school records for rushing with 307 carries for 3,382 yards and 47 touchdowns. Also all-time receiving leader with 45 catches for 968 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a defensive player, finished his career with 121 tackles and 23 interceptions. #sportsinkansas

How impressive has defending 2A champion Nemaha Central been this season under head coach Michael Glatczak? Thunder (2A🏈, 9-0) have allowed just six points through nine weeks of the 2023 season. Have eight consecutive shutouts led by multiple time all-state defensive lineman Holden Bass, who is likely the top two way lineman in Kansas, with 84 tackles and 17 TFLs. Abram Keim has 98 tackles, Sam Nordhus has 97 stops, Carter Rottinghaus with 4 INTs.. If it continues, making a case for one of the best small school defenses of all time. NC has won 22 straight. Closest margin of victory this season is 24 points. #sportsinkansas Photo: Dari Hilbert
