Summer Transfer long snapper @GavinIrons47 made another trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection! Gavin came at the end of December for the first time and we really broke everything down and helped him begin to have a better understanding of what he currently does and how to make it better. One of the biggest things we worked on was body control. You can see in the before video from our first meeting that he lacked body control and didn’t transfer energy into the ball well. In the After video you can see that he is much more controlled and snapping a faster ball with less effort! It’s always cool to see athletes get a better understanding of the physics utilized while snapping and put it to work. Transfer long snapper @GavinIrons47 made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection. Gavin was recently at Marian University where he was the starter for both punt and FG. As we analyzed Gavin’s snaps we noticed that he lacked body control which was causing some erratic snaps every once in a while. The reason he lacked body control was due to his sequence being out of order. The reason his sequence was off was because he was trying to be too quick and aggressive initiating his snap. Knowing how everything interacts with each other is extremely important when making corrections. The wrong thought can take you down a path that creates more problems than fixes them. The more you know about snapping the easier it gets!
