@codemullins PostSharp and Fody are two nuget packages that enable this type of functionality for .NET projects. If you're trying to do it for a WebApi, you can also use logging middleware to log data coming into your service endpoint and being returned.

hey .NET folks—is there a way to add an attribute to methods to auto-log them starting and stopping? i.e. something like [LogThis] public void MyMethodThatDoesThings() { ... }

@davidfowl If you were trying to convince a doubter (me), what platform would you point me at as the pinnacle of vibe coding? What should I make sure I've tried?

Today marks my 385th day as an Atlassian employee. It is also the first time I've received an email from another Atlassian employee. Until now emails have been exclusively calendar invites and app integrations. Wild.

@DamianEdwards How are you running five displays though? Do you have five display ports on your GPU? Or is this story more complicated?

@purekrome Completely agree. Federated identities should be a basic right for cloud software. The fact that we expect companies of all shapes and sizes pay the SSO tax (sso.tax) in this day and age is ridiculous.

Does anyone else find it really frustrating that online companies offering SaaS products charge ENTERPRISE pricing for .. wait for it .. SSO. eg Startups w/ 5 or 10 employees in a company and still think it's an important security feature but the pricing is ludicrous-mode. 1/

@markrendle In my new role I have no choice but to use an M2 MacBook as my daily driver - I just don't get it. I've never experienced the "it just works" happy place so many people claim to find. Multi monitor support is a shit show for starters.

Bunch of Mac Lifers insisting that macOS is “just better” than Windows and I’d love to see their working. What, exactly, makes macOS better? Because I find it clunky and awkward. C’mon, @ me.
Gergely Orosz@GergelyOrosz

Mac developers have been patiently waiting when Apple will finally ship either a touchscreen Macbook, or allow the Mac OS to run on iPads (making them a portable Macbook alternative) Apple has not done it: but Microsoft has. And it's supposedly a more capable machine than a Mac:

"They've tricked us into being managers" - a colleague. I've been proudly walking the career individual-contributor path for many years but this comment has been living rent free in my head all week.

why spend 2 minutes on a manual task when you can spend the next 7 hours on a new side project to automate it, getting it halfway done, and never touching it again

I am available from mid-October for (very) senior developer/architect contract roles with #dotnet. I'm especially good at APIs, Observability, performance, scaling and #Azure stuff. Also if you have legacy stuff on old .NET (WebForms, WCF, etc) I can help. RTs appreciated 🙏

It's 2023 and your IT team is still forcing the entire company to change their passwords every few months 🤦 PS. I work at Microsoft, and we stopped doing this nearly four years ago. Send the link below to your IT team 👇
