Feeding time for our enormous longnose gar is always popular with those lucky enough to be in the aquarium when it decides to eat. Here it is enjoying a 10" rainbow trout.

Wednesday was a beautiful day to wrap up a cool partnership project that involved state agencies from Nebraska and South Dakota, as well as the Rosebud and Oglala Sioux Tribes. 470,000 yellow perch were harvested from our ponds and split up among the groups.

We're going back on the road with our critters tomorrow. Come meet them at Weigand Marina from 1:00-4:00. They have a lot going on over there as part of their National Marina Day festival.

Yesterday we had a great time partnering with our friends from the National Park Service on an aquatic ecology educational session for their Jr. Ranger kids. They explored our ponds and learned about the vast diversity of life that exists below the surface.

2019 walleye production ended very successfully with truckloads of fingerlings headed to a popular local fishery.

We think it's going to be a BUSY summer at the hatchery. The one million+ paddlefish eggs we collected over the last two weeks are hatching. #FridayThoughts

The paddlefish spawn always draws a crowd!

It's the second (and final) paddlefish spawning day here at the hatchery. Last week we harvested 400,000 eggs and we're hoping for a similar number today.
