I’ve been thinking these past few days about just how great the trio of Ellis, Jackson, & Freeman will be. This is as good a trio as you’ll see next year🗽⚡️ The Floor General: We finally have a PG in Ellis who has the ability to get downhill and collapse defenses which will unlock Jackson. Ellis also has the strength & size at 6’5 that gives him the ability to bully smaller guards & finish over bigs at the rim. The Bucket Getter: Jackson thrives off the catch & will get easier looks, playing off movement instead of pounding the ball to get his shots. I expect not only his scoring averages to jump but his 3PT % too w/ more catch & shoot opportunities. The Point Forward Lite / Scoring 4: Freeman gives us another point forward to utilize but one who can score at all 3 levels. He’s a matchup nightmare because he can attack slower bigs or punish switches when guards pick him up. He also has defensive upside w/ the athleticism & quickness to guard 1-5 on switches. It’s similar in ways to the 2024 trio of Kadary, RJ, & Zuby except better shooting, a bit quicker, & all three players can score from all 3 levels. #SJUBB

Time to move on from missing on Diop. Zuby Ejiofor and Ruben Prey posted nearly identical sophomore numbers—and we saw Zuby’s leap. Doubting Ruben as our main big is misguided. Year three under Pitino should bring a breakout junior season. #SJUBB
