Everybody meet Gordon Kerr, from Milton, the “right wing Celtic fan” who was arrested at the Unite the Klans rally on Saturday He has been held up as a poster boy to apparently show “Celtic and Rangers fans coming together” and “Glasgow being united” on the right, in an attempt to legitimise the protests as the city “putting their differences to the side” for the greater good…. but the truth is, as always, a wee bit different Firstly there was no “putting aside any differences” as he admits himself he has “been at war” with Celtic fans for years due to his extreme politics that go against what the vast majority believe in and says he doesn’t feel safe at Celtic Park (although it’s doubtful if he’s ever actually been) Gordy is a self confessed far-right obsessed agitator (he calls TOMMY ROBINSON of all people a “leftie”) who has made his full online personality about being a right-wing Celtic fan because he clearly thinks it makes him some kind of edge-lord 🤦🏻‍♂️ But there’s a few clues to suggest he’s not much of a football or Celtic man at all… ✔️ Union Jack flags on his profile ✔️ Jock Stein slander ✔️ Celtic Boys Club scandal comments ✔️ Feels safer at Ibrox ✔️ Hates the Green Brigade ✔️ Says Aberdeen beating Celtic in the cup final was a good thing ✔️ Wishes Celtic fans were more like Rangers fans ❌ Not one mention on his social media of any Celtic games or title wins (including the recent dramatic title win - not a peep, which is obviously strange for someone who tweets 30/50 times A DAY) ❌ Nothing positive about the club or anything really you would expect from an average Celtic fan ❌ Spells Parkhead as Park Head (never in my life seen any Celtic fan use two words for Parkhead) ❌ Only mentions being a Celtic fan when it’s to highlight how he isn’t like the other Celtic fans and suck up to right wing Rangers fans Glasgow WAS united, and did come together on Saturday - but it was on the left side with genuine Rangers and Celtic fans (and Partick Thistle fans) joining the fight back against racism - but as it was nothing to do with football they didn’t wear their club kits because they aren’t weird attention seekers The right are simply using Gordy in a desperate attempt to gain more support and normalise it because they know they are still miles off it in Glasgow despite their best efforts - even after being topped up by bus loads of rent-a-mob hooligans from England and across Scotland, they were still massively outnumbered on a day they billed as being their “biggest ever” rally Was there probably a handful Celtic fans joining with the far-right? No doubt, and anyone who thinks any support (particularly one as big as Celtic or Rangers) is a monolithic group is deluded, but I can guarantee there were far more Rangers fans in the left side than Celtic fans on the right Of course you have the extreme end of the “ultras” scene, and there’s no secret to the links between the far-right and the hardcore elements of certain Rangers fan groups and “influencers” - but they don’t represent the full support with many Rangers supporting socialists, trade unionists and anti racism campaigners joining the fight against the far right. So don’t allow them to try and gaslight people into believing it’s something different to what it is because they got one this far right “Celtic fan” to wear the Hoops top for a photo op in their attempt to gain more traction and more followers to their cause It’s clear now the right are getting desperate as they start to lose a bit of momentum they had built up through fear mongering - as more and more people start to see through the whole “genuine concerns” facade as an excuse for some good old fashioned bigotry and hooliganism 👍 (Source: The Glasgow Gospel, Facebook)
