Presidents are expected to update and maintain the White House, it's a longstanding tradition, each President leaves his own personal mark on the place. You think this is suddenly absurd, evil, defacement, etc because you don't acknowledge that Trump is just as much President as Jackson, Truman or either Roosevelt.
