@sniffpetrol @M_Steeples Crazy how none of the press cars feature the painted roof option. Have to go digging in the configurator.

@M_Steeples If it was the new design direction for, say, Tesla or Hyundai's Ioniq cars I think people would be very happy with it. But even as a Ferrari, the more I see, the more I like it (with some caveats).

Was ist eine Luxusmarke wie Ferrari überhaupt noch wert, wenn es diesen ganzen Luxus mit besserem Design und mehr Funktionen für 20.000 Euro bei 180 chinesischen Autoherstellern auch gibt? 🤔

@Jackkk Not a single reason to choose this over the lucid air sapphire. In fact, over 400,000 reasons to choose the former.

Threadguy thinks everyone is wrong about Ferrari's new EV “You’re going to be on Rodeo Drive and you’re gonna see somebody roll down the street in one of these and you’re going to drop your jaw on the floor because this car is Italian greatness” “You’re gonna see this thing go zero to 60 in .25 and make no sounds, like the Prius in The Office episode. This is one of those things you’re just gonna do a 180 on” “Everyone’s like for $600K?! Bro, the numbers don’t even mean anything anymore. Like, what’s the floor Ferrari? This is what I think is so funny. Everyone’s like, ‘For $600,000, bro?’ It’s not for you” “The person that’s buying this car for $600,000, it’s like a leap year toy. The number doesn’t even mean anything”

@emkwan Exactly. Not to mention that fast looking EV Supercars are the worst selling cars on the market. They made the smart call in completely separating the EV wing from their other cars. For now.

Lots of people have opinions about the new Ferrari Luce… But having actually seen it in person, my honest feeling is this: Ferrari looks like a company being pushed by legislation and the future of the industry to experiment with its own heritage… even at the risk of upsetting the exact people who made the brand iconic in the first place. That’s what makes this car so fascinating. It doesn’t feel like Ferrari WANTED to make “just another EV.” It feels like Ferrari trying to survive the future without losing its soul. Some will respect that. Others will hate it. And honestly? Both sides make valid points.

I was struggling to understand the size of the Ferrari Luce but it makes sense now I've been able to use the industry standard metric of one Pope.

One Nation supports negative gearing being allowed on 2 homes for everyone. The Labor government claims to be helping the younger generation, yet they’re taking away an investment strategy that has been used by generations before them. We completely oppose the changes to CGT.

i’m ngl chinese evs clear the luxury space as well, this is a truly awful looking car. ik aerodynamics are important to make sure the car can hit 250+ miles on a battery, but if ferrari took an older model and swapped an ice engine for a battery it would be far cooler than this

On tranche 2 privacy reform: Corporate Australia is hoovering up your biometric data and they can because we have last-century privacy laws in this country. Labor's response is that at some unspecified point in the future, they'll consult on legislation they haven't written yet..

@Gazz23 @DaveSharma Intrigued where you got 5% from. That very same nurse, if he/she made a small capital gain, would likely pay ~16% on nominal gains based on 50% of their marginal tax rate (plus Medicare levy). The government cut of after-inflation gains will prove higher again, often sharply

Under Labor’s new tax: — You can walk into a casino, come out $1000 ahead, and pay $0 tax — but if you make $1000 on shares/ETFs, you will pay $300-470 in tax — if you build & sell a business, the ATO now takes 30-47% of your gain Gambling is tax-free. Investing is punished.

@blakenus @DaveSharma The argument that investment income should be taxed less than income from labour has zero weight. So what that they put money on the line? A builder puts his back on the line, a case worker puts their mental health on the line, a plumber literally gets covered in shit.

@Gazz23 @DaveSharma no shit and the government shouldn't be taking 47% of that profit, seeming people with balls put their taxed money on the line to make that profit

@Gazz23 @DaveSharma Why should taxes be paid on profits that have been gained by using money that has already been taxed? It's a simple question.

@ca91450 @bitcoindad_AU @DaveSharma Of course it's the same as income! How could it possibly be any different. Just about EVERY country taxes profits from investing as income.

@bitcoindad_AU @Gazz23 @DaveSharma Gary, the profits are from risk based investing, taking a risk, say on a new small miner company, you cant seriously think that is the same as earning income, but if you do, consider yourself a socialist commie since NO other country taxes this like you mate.

@Gazz23 @DaveSharma Do you think the money people invest into stocks and ETFs just appears out of nowhere? That money is earned through their jobs and businesses, it has already been taxed by the government before it’s even invested.
