Fellow Countrymen and Women , what we do at the Ministry of Road and Highways is largely engineering. Don’t be mislead by anyone with a hidden motive. No contractor in Ghana has only one staff. I am told someone mentioned the name of a firm called Sanam (4 workers per SSNIT clearance) and Build Managers (1 worker). These are contractors with many active staff working on site currently. Disregard the disinformation.

When the NDC was in opposition, sole sourcing was a sin. Now in government, it is a sacrament. Let me give you the numbers the NDC does not want you to hear. Under NPP, 1km of feeder road cost an average of $550,000. Under the NDC's Big Push, the same type of feeder road now costs $1.2 MILLION per kilometre. That is more than double. For what? Ato Forson signed off on GHS 51 billion (5% of Ghana's entire GDP) for 50 contracts. Every single one sole-sourced. Not one competitive bid from the party who claimed to cut/cancel sole sourcing. Not one. So when Sammy Gyamfi says there is no evidence of inflation, the maths is right here. Ghanaians are not fools.
