Weird thing: - Norway chess made their tournament have 10 second increment after move 40 in the "classical" games. - Freestyle became progressively faster tournament by tournament and I think there was literally a statement by Buettner saying how Magnus said something along the lines of "everyone was getting better, so it's fine to speed things up". lmao. - Now this new tour with the weird mixed time controls. To me it appears Magnus is declaring that he's not confident in any format other than these faster ones. So nope, there won't be any proper "unification match" unless it's some weird mixed time-controls match with Blitz mixed in.
