@yoshiiteru Honestly, similar boat. A lot of the times my clients, or even me, don’t realise the refs are AI until after I take a closer look. The problem it’s so over saturated and impossible to filter out, I’m not going to fault my client for sending me an AI pic

if it's a pose ref you found on pinterest and it happens to be ai, i don't care. those visual libraries are too cluttered nowadays to sort through it.
if you gen it yourself tho, or the full ref of your chara is ai, then I'm not working with you ❌

Do you think it's wrong to use ai to show an artist a reference for something that you want to commission them and pay them for? I generally am curious of this. example- I want this type of pose but I can only find anime ai art for ref.. Is it wrong to use that as ref ??

@Kibu_chan Funny how there was an opposite thread that kinda popped off about getting canvas size recommendations and it was all like 20k, and then riggers are now like “wait no, please, don’t do that” and I thought as an artist I was doing something wrong with 6k 😭

If model pieces are too big, they may need to be scaled down in the atlas [Or rotated, wich affects the quality of the piece by re-pixelating it]

@Rabbitto88 100%.. 4k x 8k is the max I'd ever go at this point at least in terms of canvas height. It really depends on the proportions of the character though (if the head is small in comparison to the body then it's hard to go too much lower rez)

@cillia @Rabbitto88 Here I am working on 4k x 6k and I’m able to do pixel level detail quality without creating massive file sizes due to my cutting. And you’re telling me there are artists working on 20k sized canvases??? How are their files not crashing

@cillia @Rabbitto88 I remember seeing an artist asking for canvas recommendations for higher resolution. And I thought “oh, they must be working on like 2k x 4k”. Then I check and it’s like 8k x 10k and I’m just like 👁️👁️ is that not big enough. And then people reccing 20k resolution and I’m like-
