🚨 BREAKING: #Inter is interested in Bernardo Silva as a free agent. 🇵🇹 The midfielder is OPEN to joining Serie A, but would only go to a team that is qualified for the Champions League. This is why Juventus is nearly OUT of the race. [via @TuttoMercatoWeb]

@fnseixas_ @PKOBone @pythaginboots I don't deny, but that Brazil squad has struggled, you just never know and he has also played in a dysfunctional Chelsea this season and rose up. Definitely better than some forwards there Anyways, midfield is where things will go wrong, I want Endrick to start and Ney finishes

I’m a Manchester United fan and there is no way Cunha is a better 9 than Joao Pedro. Cunha better coming in from a wide area of as a second striker/inside forward whereas Pedro is the best false 9 in the league and someone who I reckon long term can lead the line at a Barca. He was the main guy who has that City backline on the ropes during that FA Cup final.
AllThingsBrazil™@SelecaoTalk

For anyone complaining about João Pedro, Ancelotti clearly didn’t think he did enough in the time he spent with him. João Pedro failed to score in all his 8 games for Brazil and looked well off the pace. Cunha is Ancelotti’s preferred no.9, due to his ability to press from the front. Last call-up Endrick and Igor Thiago both impressed, which swayed Ancelotti.

@illmax_rubani @tonnie_moremi I don't support Garnacho long-term, but we can reap some benefit from him. Also, if he can be better, what's their to lose. We will definitely get a starter for that position and him and Gittens, we shall see who competes to stay

@Geigenvector @tonnie_moremi Garna & co should be nowhere near Chelsea....sign creative & technically great attackers, an anchor CDM (Xhaka, Matic profile), and do an overhaul of the whole defense, especially centre backs, only Colwill can be trusted, sell Gusto, cash in on Cucurella after a season

@illmax_rubani @tonnie_moremi Chelsea has 6 days a week to practise. Liam complained that he came in and can only rest players, didn't discuss tactics. Those useless players now have a gaffer who has shown can improve players and with ample time to drill in lessons. Garnacho will start showing us new things

Nairobi, final reflections. Despite Nairobi being a haven of NGO work, impact funds, climate workshops and every species of grant funded virtue, one hears far less of the heavy socialist sermonising that so often drifts through Southern Africa. Why is that? I didn’t find a Karl Marx road as we did in Maputo…. Perhaps Kenya’s commercial bloodstream is simply too strong. Nairobi may host the NGO cathedral, but outside its stained glass windows the city is hustling: traders, founders, developers, agents, boda boda, financiers, exporters, coders and small businessmen all trying to make a shilling before the next traffic jam. The traffic jams here in the middle of high traffic and rain are extortion writ large. But the uber driver earning thrice the fee wasn’t complaining. Nor should we, but the wait time at a restaurant can stretch up to two hours, with the usual retort of “I’m almost there” serving as a signal to order the next dawa. The intellectual mood in Nairobi is softened by enterprise. Even the social impact crowd seems more likely to speak the language of scale, platforms, mobile money and market access than nationalisation, redistribution and state led salvation. Southern Africa, by contrast, still carries a heavier liberation era grammar. Politics there often begins with the state, the party, the struggle and the promise that history owes someone something. Nairobi feels more impatient with that theatre. It has its own dysfunctions, certainly, but its instinct is more transactional, more entrepreneurial, more “where is the opportunity?” than “where is the manifesto?” That may be why, even in a city full of NGOs, capitalism still manages to keep the microphone. I like it here….

@arsenalbabe_ Juventus might miss out on UCL, so Yildiz can still be tempted. Diomande is good, and has proven himself in both Laliga and Bundesliga so far, he's always fit and also has far more output than Barcola. Every signing is a risk anyways.

I have calculated and permutated. He seems like the only left winger truly available due to his contract and playing time, young, within reach and obtainable this summer. 1. You are not getting Kvara 💯 2. Leao is old and has not been the same guy he was 3 seasons ago. 3. Yildiz extended this season. 4. Gordons is off to Bayern. 5. Yan Diomande is a senseless risk goinf by Sancho and more recently Gittens. 6. Godts is a senseless risk. Even Belgium doesn’t rate him. 7. Rodrygo doesn’t want to leave Real Madrid and hasn’t played for ages. 8. Summerville is not Arsenal’s level at all. 9. Rashford is not the player he used to be. 10. Ndiaye has shown us how erratic he is. I’d rather keep our current wingers Market is toast! Who else did I miss?
AFTV@AFTVMedia

🚨 Arsenal are reportedly in the race to sign PSG winger Bradley Barcola, while Liverpool’s interest in the France international may be cooling due to his profile. Would Barcola be a good fit for Arsenal? 👀

For footballers, there has to be a recognition of where feels like home. It’s such a short career. The allure of trophies is so strong, but at the end of your career, you need something eternally invaluable and it’s the love of the people. Griezmann wanted trophies. He left and didn’t win most of them. That’s fate talking. The Atletico fanbase loves him. He wasn’t cancelled. Simeone loves him too, he accepted him back. In some clubs, that’s the end. You can’t go back. Every footballer will not win titles, but any footballer can be loved if they apply themselves well. It’s not always about the big trophies. It’s not always about the big bags because you’ll make those if you’re an elite footballer, but will you be loved at the next club? Can you back there in 20 years when you’re 56 and they’ll stand up in awe of you, give you a standing ovation, and have love plastered in their eyes? There are many stories like this. Home is where the love is.
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano

🚨 Antoine Griezmann: “Please forgive me. I was young and I made a mistake to join Barcelona”. “I did not understand the love I had here. I recognized my mistake, and did everything to come back and enjoy here”. “I didn’t win La Liga or the UCL, but your love is what matters”.

Thiago Alcântara’s coaching career path will be interesting. Currently an assistant coach at Barca. Played as a #6 in England, Germany, and Spain. Coached by Klopp, Flick, Pep, Enrique, Heynckes, Ancelotti. Spoke very well on The Coaches Voice about tactics.

A lot of people have become too comfortable talking about Chelsea in a negative manner, including our own fanbase. No doubt, this season has been terrible, but we are inevitable. This Project has already proved a lot of people wrong by winning two trophies and becoming World Champions last season. Now, after making mistakes from top to bottom this season, it’s time to take the next step. Hiring Xabi Alonso is a VERY good start.
Dougie Critchley@DougieCritchley

Xabi Alonso rejected Gladbach to continue to develop at Real Sociedad B... Xabi Alonso rejected Liverpool on the back of his unbeaten League and Cup double to continue to develop at Leverkusen... I'm staggered that people think he'd be keen to become the 7th permanent manager of Clearlake's 4 year reign at Chelsea, 6 months on from being (I would argue unfairly) sacked by Real Madrid. I've been wrong many times before, I could be wrong on this... But I'd be amazed if Xabi Alonso took the Chelsea job. If the right offer doesn't appear this summer, just wait. What's the rush?! He's 44, coming off the first "failure" of his career.

@B03GHB4L1 I have a feeling that we’re going to go for Osimhen again. Established “star” that makes another statement. I think this entire summer will be about statements. Won’t shock me if we enter races purely to make noise like Elliot Anderson too.

I agree with this because unlike the rest of my fanbase, I don't think Jackson should play CF for us ever again. That guy needs someone to realize he is an interior. I had previously talked about Alvaro Rodriguez but he wouldn't fit the mould of "established striker", more of a tactical weapon...I just hope this doesn't lead to us wasting money with so many other issues to address

@iam_brau @MobyChe 3 players regressed maybe a few more but overall level of the team rose and you can not disagree with that. I think Maresca inherited a great squad in first half of season than what he was left with in start of his second season. we failed because of summer transfer window

Mareaca walked so we could run. If he didn't leave the way he did, it wouldn't have exposed the club and ownership the way it did. Also if Enzk and Cucurella didn't speak the mind of several players in the team, the club would have been able to swat away any such allegations and fans would have been shouting into the void. Perfect storm to have what we campaigned for. Change. This is the first step.

🚨 Eden Hazard on why some people rated him above Neymar: “People always loved comparing me with Neymar two players who enjoyed dribbling, taking risks, and making football fun. I always respected him because his talent was obvious. But I remember one night at Stamford Bridge that changed how I saw myself. We were playing a big match, and from the first minute, their defenders had one plan kick me every time I touched the ball. One tackle came late, then another. After about twenty minutes, one defender looked at me and smiled like he had already won the battle. At halftime, I was angry. My socks were torn, my ankles were sore, and some teammates told me to release the ball quicker. I looked at them and said, ‘No... now I want the ball even more.’ Second half, every attack came through me. I started driving at the same defender again and again. One dribble, then another, then I created the goal that changed the match. After the final whistle, that same defender came to me and said, ‘I’ve never chased someone like that for ninety minutes.’ That night, when journalists asked me about Neymar comparisons, I smiled and said: ‘Neymar can make football look beautiful… I wanted to make it feel impossible for defenders.’” ⚽🔥

🇦🇷📞 Back in 2003, Marcelo Bielsa made one of the boldest calls of his managerial career. Ahead of a friendly against Uruguay, the Argentina boss selected a 19-year-old Javier Mascherano… despite the midfielder NEVER having played a senior game for River Plate. 🤯 Bielsa personally phoned River manager Leo Astrada to explain the decision. ▪️ “Marcelo… the kid hasn’t even made his debut yet.” ▪️ “Relax, Leo. Time will tell if I’m right.” And he absolutely was. ⏳ Mascherano went on to become one of Argentina’s greatest-ever midfielders and finished his international career with 147 caps — the second-most in the nation’s history at the time. 🐐❤️
