@ChessGainz Oh ok we can obviously win e4 with 1.Bc2 Re3+ 2.Kf4 Re2 3.Be4. So yeah I'm going with that.

it's not that freestyle chess is so horrible, it's just that i rank it below duck chess in the pecking order

After 1…Rb5 2.Qxb5 Ng3+ 3.Kh2 Qf4, White has to accept a repetition. And after 2.Nxb4 Rc5, apparently Black has sufficient counterplay.

The natural option is 1…Rbe8. Black’s attack is enough for a draw. The surprising option is 1…Kh6. Apparently Black has time to sidestep any checks in advance. The crazy option is 1…Rb5!!? If you ever see me play like that, feel free to accuse me of computer cheating.

A complex position from a game I played two weeks ago. Apparently Black has three moves that keep the balance, but I chose none of them. I’ll be very impressed if you can guess more than one of the three options.

One more amazing study with limited material balance. Pervakov, O, 2000. White plays and draws.

@ChessProblem I disagree! It probably sucks at chess in completely different ways than how you (and I) suck at chess, making this very detectable 😅

@RoizMichael83 Maybe Kb4-c3 as 2.Ba2 Kc3 3.d5 is an immediate draw with 3…Kb2 4.Bc4 Kc3! At first I thought White has 2.Kf5 Kc3 3.Ke4, but that might just be an unusual fortress as White can neither push the pawns nor cross d5 with the king.

This is from today's game Sargsyan, S (2659) - Vokhidov, S (2644). Black's passer is stopped, while connected pawns seem to secure White's win. However, can you see how Black could survive? 🧐
