@GeisingerHealth @UnitedStatesMil it seems as though the only studies that have been done on how aloe vera might affect the kidneys were done using aloe latex, and taking it orally. 🧐 Aloe vera gel is the clear stuff in the center, and I wonder if applying it to skin could help?

Dear @GeisingerHealth, on Friday, my mother was admitted to Geisinger of Wyoming Valley for a scheduled surgery to have two stents put in. During check in, the hospital offered to have the doctor call me after surgery. I agreed to this. Later that day, a nurse called to tell me my mother was out of surgery, but could provide no other details. She said a doctor would call "later." No doctor called. A doctor eventually contacted me Saturday morning, after my mother complained. During this call, I was informed that they decided to put in three stents instead of just two, and that my mother would be discharged no earlier than Monday. On Sunday, I was informed she was being discharged with no explanation why they decided she was fit enough to be sent home a day early. It's now Tuesday, and I had to take her back to the hospital. She's in excruciating pain. She can't eat, can't sleep, can't get comfortable, and, most concerning, hasn't had a bowel movement since before she went in to the hospital. I can't think of any world where she should have been discharged.
