Don't think anyone would be surprised in the slightest if Jacobson takes the Aggies dancing in year 1
If that comes to fruition it would be State's 5th different head coach to reach the tourney in a 7 year span 🤯

This is the first time in the last like 5 years that I’m seeing USU fans crashing out. Which is crazy. I don’t remember ever hearing USU coaching rumors prior to this. It may not be as “splashy” as the the rumors but Jacobsen seems like a good fit for USU,

Big fan of this hire for Utah State Ben Jacobsen has been at UNI his entire head coaching career - 20 years. 5x NCAA Tournament appearances, some of the most memorable moments in tourney upset history. Great coach, didn't think he would ever leave at this rate. A+ @USUBasketball

@BradenTClark @DeadAirwithJDW I am not negative on the hire like I am seeing from many of our Aggie family, but I don’t think there is any price that keeps anyone of consequence from last year’s squad. This will be a total rebuild.

Positives:
Coach Jacobson's buyout is pennies compared to the other rumored head coaches: Mark Madsen and Eric Olen.
Utah State can now take that $3+ million from Calhoun and reinvest it into our team.
I hope that Coach Jacobson's first objective is to find the cost to retain our current roster of studs, and then begin to fill out the team after that.

There's a lot of bitter Aggies on the socials today about this hire. It is what it is. I am choosing to be optimistic about it, and hopeful that he is the right guy for the Aggies. Everyone hates it, so you know it will be a good hire.
