Reunited this morning, travelled home & straight out on our fav walk. Never leaving him again, missed him far too much!!! 🥰

@ColliePip Such good news! He looks a lot brighter than he did a few days ago. You guys have lots of cuddles to catch up on 🥰

Pippin update : if nothing drastic occurs overnight Pippin comes home tomorrow 🥳❤️‍🩹🐾 the vet is happy with his progress and today is the best I have seen him, his usual playful self and wrestling with the Pipodile 🐊

@ColliePip My cat had a wound in his arm pit & it wouldn’t heal even with stitches in because he was on steroids. The laser was weekly for about 6 weeks but made it heal. Appreciate Pip’s situation is different though Pleased you’re getting him home soon! 🥰

@GemandRed No… I will ask this today now it’s his usual vet. ❤️‍🩹🐾

Pippin update : spoke to his usual vet this morning. He hasn’t seen him since Thursday. He was very happy to see the improvements and said if he continues whilst they wean off the opioids he can come home tomorrow 🥳❤️‍🩹🐾

Pippin update : the vet called and said he had a good night but was much more vocal. They said they think it’s behavioural and to do with the pain, but I think it might be because he’s feeling a bit better and is fed up of being there! They are doing the operation this morning

Got my first ever tattoo today, a tribute to my bestest boy Red & our love for the ocean. A little nod to his shepherd lantern too 😁

@wilsontracey87 Great work! Do they compete against each other now? We have a comp next weekend but haven’t trained for months …..but the boy will love it

We had a lovely day at a agility show boys got a 1st and 2nd but it was to windy for a pic

@ColliePip Pleased you’ve been able to see him & I’m very impressed he still managed to find a stick! Hope you got some more information too, the uncertainty often makes it worse. Keeping fingers crossed for some good news soon 🤞

They are also talking of reducing the steroid to try and let his immunity build back up. Hopefully that doesn’t set back any progress from the PLE (his stomach today was far less swollen)… so still not out of the woods by any stretch.. but so happy to take him for walkies ❤️‍🩹🐾

Pippin update: i was allowed to take Pip for a little walk around the grounds of the hospital today. It was so nice to see him a bit brighter and picking up sticks. Tomorrow he is having an operation to remove dying and dead skin from his hock (not showing photos) 😣

@ColliePip Lots of hugs from all of us ❤️ I had a similar issue when my cat had a wound that wouldn’t heal because of steroids he was on, in the end they used a laser to heal it instead. Pip’s situation is different but it might be another option to ask about. Good luck

Pippin update. The hospital called and they had an emergency in, plus a skeleton staff so apologised for the late update… they said he is fairly settled, but they had in up his painkillers as the leg is very sore. They have asked permission to remove some of the dead skin

The PLE is slow to respond. And the drugs for treating it contraindicate what he needs for the infection. He is a complex case and they say there is a 50:50 chance for him. Thank you all do the kind Messages. They mean a lot. Please keep sending your positive healing vibes ❤️‍🩹🐾

An update for all our friends. Pip is not out of the woods yet but is fighting. His infected leg is awful - won’t post photos as it’s distressing. The vet said he picks up when we visit so we are allowed back tomorrow. Pray for a good night for him 🐾❤️‍🩹(photo from the weekend)

@GemandRed He did call and we had a long chat. The prognosis is mixed 😢 need to see what the infection is and try to treat it. They normally don’t allow visits as it unsettles the dogs but he did say he would support me visiting tomorrow because he is such a mummy’s boy ❤️‍🩹

having shown zero interest in eating his own dinner, Yolo is supervising hu as she cooks her own.👀 I keeping an eye on the situation incase it turns out to be a genius dinner upgrade tip... 😋 in the meantime hu picked up Yolo's dinner so I didn't eat it for him 👎🤷🐾

@ColliePip Also, can you visit? Maybe sitting with him for a while might help lift his spirits?

@ColliePip I’m so sorry to hear this 😢 This illness seems like a roller coaster for you guys. Being in overnight is horrible for you both but it means they can monitor Pip & get the right meds in quickly. He will be back home with you soon, I’m sure of it. ❤️

Pip’s mum here… it’s not like me to post as myself, this is very much Pippin’s account but I wanted to let the many kind friends he has know that he is currently in hospital having contracted an infection due to the lack of immunity caused by the drugs he’s on to treat PLE.
