The emblem of Tamil Nadu features a temple gopuram, and temple culture is deeply woven into Tamil life; many Tamil Hindus therefore feel that such open calls to “eradicate Sanatana” inside the Assembly compromise their religious dignity even if the remarks are protected by parliamentary privilege.
