Said it before, will say it again: with all due respect to Michael Bradley, Tab Ramos, Claudio Reyna etc., Weston McKennie is the best midfielder in #USMNT history.

@KenSpang @AWRE_Sports 21 is easy, in soccer you come in as 18 year freshman competing against 24 year olds Europeans who came up though the professional academies. And you may be just as good but the coach has invested a lot more in bringing the European over so will give him/her every opportunity

The biggest obstacle HS Players face today is not the lack of “exposure”. It’s that they’re competing against 21yr old grown men sitting in the Portal who also have 200 ABs on video while they have a 1-minute highlight reel their parents made... Level the playing field 📹.

When Soccer was first imported to the USA, it was commonly called, in Britain, "Soccer", not football. This was because of a dumb Oxford slang that would take some abbreviation and add "-cer" to the end. Soccer was the Football Society or some such so it became "Soc" (for Society) "cer" (the slang ending). In America, the name took hold. So we are using the name that YOU BRITS GAVE TO US. So I don't want hear anymore of this nonsense about how we "changed the name" of football. Also our "football" got its name because we had to differentiate it as a variant of rugby, which it evolved from.

@11Yanks I’m gonna say prime is more 23-25, watch the ages at next summers cup. Seems the best teams usually have younger players with a couple vets mixed in.

Something to think about: Most of the USMNT 🇺🇸 pool actually hit their prime until the 2030 World Cup. Here's a list, with their 2030 ages. Balogun (28) Pepi (27) Reyna (27) Tillman (28) Musah (27) Tessmann (28) Cardoso (28) Dest (29) Weah (30) Scally (27) Richards (30) McKenzie (31) Luna (26) Aaronson (29) Trusty (31) Freeman (25)

@DaingenKeltoi @KevG163 Yep, Tatum was an early player in the “let’s try to hurt the guy instead of play the ball” game. If if defends instead of head hunts the play is never remembered again.

@KevG163 The key is that the ball was deflected by Jack Tatum, and two angles -- the one from behind Bradshaw & the slow-motion at the end -- make it clear that it hit Tatum & nobody else. If he'd done anything except try to kill the receiver the Raiders would have won. Just karma, baby.

-2 OL stay at the LOS so that Shough gets hit -Shough slides diagonally *into* Ransom's path -7+ Saints immediately throw their hands up to the refs -At least 2 of those didn't even see the hit -Zero Saints rush on/off for a kick Saints practiced and ran this play to draw a flag

@coachkelley1 @Panthers @Saints I believe it was a set up, look at all the Saints reactions. They all knew what was happening and then the QB goes in the tent for like 5 seconds.

Big game for ⁦@Panthers⁩ . The tackler, with game on line (12 secs) &QB run up middle trying to get to FG line, DOES NOT HAVE TIME to think that the qb is going to slide and he darn sure doesn’t have time to pull up. It allowed the @saints an easy FG for the win.

@GenSoccerCLT @AdvFtbAcad Long ball gets played over the top and you're running behind the defender, that ball is not always gonna come right to your feet sometimes you have to take the ball on the chest. These exercises help with that, good chest control allows you to dictate pace and the next move.

@HornsNRedDevils @AdvFtbAcad They are literally popping it up in the air and can wait for it to come down to volley. Not happening too much in game situations. Good control but would rather have the ball on the floor

@AdvFtbAcad Yes. The ability to stop the ball at any height on a dime gives the attacker the ability to dictate the speed either he can slow it down or speed it up. If he takes a bad touch he then is at the mercy of the defender. It's a huge advantage.

And #USMNT fans were annoyed with how AC Milan racked up Pulisic's minutes at the end of last season when nothing was realistically at stake. So it goes both ways folks. Milan had their reasons, USMNT has theirs. Let it be.
USMNT Only@usmntonly

AC Milan are reportedly 'annoyed' with how Mauricio Pochettino and the USMNT handled Christian Pulisic, who got hurt against Australia, believing he was risked for no reason given no points were at stake, as he was already dealing with an ankle problem prior to the match.

@Teamgrassroots_ USMNT won’t win anything until we can break a team down on the dribble. Great passing by these lads but none of them are learning to beat a guy 1 v 1. At least from the look of this video.

This is the moral blackmail the Saudi league does. Don’t see why this should seem more noble. “It is not good for the sporting element of your career, but here’s all this money no other league in the world would give you and please choose us.” I think anyone who doesn’t act as a protection racket for MLS could admit that. It’s okay to admit that. I think that most people understand MLS has its place in the ecosystem. However, we cannot lie about what its place is. It is not comparable to the top footballing leagues. Colorado Rapids are not a top 250 club in the world (being generous) and Eintracht Frankfurt are like top 30. There is no sporting element where this makes sense. It’s spiting your football for money and lifestyle. A decision players are allowed to make, but don’t be mad when fans of a National Team (which I am, I make zero apologies and am crystal clear over my interests) don’t like their National Team being made worse. MLS tried this for the 2018 cycle. Might be unfair to say they were THE reason we didn’t qualify for the World Cup, but they were one of the major reasons. They gave our players who were playing in the top levels in Europe retirement contracts and their performance level (unsurprisingly) dipped in an inferior league. The “MLS is just trying to get better and you have to respect that” argument is so incredibly naive you’d have to believe it is intentionally dishonest. Paxten Aaronson is not going to make any dent on MLS as a league. He’ll maybe be an MLS All-Star for 10 years. He’s not going to be a top 5 player in MLS. He makes no real tangible difference. No fan in Malaysia is now tuning in to watch MLS that wouldn’t have otherwise. Lionel Messi couldn’t change anything for MLS. No way Aaronson will. MLS is not going to be changed by any one player. Even if you took the best 30 American players playing abroad and sent them to MLS it wouldn’t make any real difference towards where they rank as a league. The way MLS will become a better league is changing their salary structure, finding a way to bridge the obvious hole of not playing in the best club competitions in the world, and improving its youth development system to produce a higher level of player. So a move like this by MLS is really just to spite the National Team because they want to promote that their league has an extra player in the National Team pool as we head toward the World Cup, which they are trying to grift off of (and what they fail to understand is a player like this will simply find his way out of the pool over time due to this move). They know it won’t help the National Team for its players to play in an inferior competition. It should be accepted by MLS that the best American players should ideally play in better leagues. The better the National Team gets the better their league will get. Look at Mexico. They have their worst group in how long when their domestic league decided to overvalue their domestic players. This stuff is completely correlated. For the record, I am probably the best promoter MLS has for their youth brand. Why? Because that’s where the majority of our up and coming players play. It’s simply logical. Claiming I hate MLS or am biased against them is laughable. What I do have is a clear picture of where MLS stands and its impact. Maybe because I am my own independent source I don’t feel the need to kiss MLS’s ass. I don’t kiss USL’s ass or Europe’s. I advocate for whatever will help our National Team. The USMNT needs MLS and MLS needs the USMNT. Don’t lose sight of that. MLS absolutely has its place for the National Team, but this was undeniably a hostile act. They will only continue it if they think it’s acceptable, and believe me we’ve seen it before and it had disastrous consequences. It will make the National Team worse while making MLS no better.
