Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack. Thank you to everyone who demanded freedom for Liam. We won’t stop until all children and families are home.

@ArthurIzzi I think that we are stuck on that you see this as a valid operation & I see it as a pretext to do the insurrection act because they want to prevent or rig midterms. Bondi’s letter is proof of this pretext. None of this is about immigration.

@ArthurIzzi We have a constitutional right, some would say duty, to protest & to see what this agency is doing. I worked with the BPD psychologist for many years. I used to do this work & I believe I understand use of force policy. But you said we should ignore all that because it’s war.

@ArthurIzzi I’ve always told my daughter that exact same thing. Always. But what we are seeing now is fascism & we must resist it. I wish we were face to face for this discussion because it contained many layers of details. So much gets lost in this type of communication

@ArthurIzzi I get death threats pretty frequently. Some have been potentially serious. And btw, when I was in the streets for law enforcement, I didn’t carry anything but pepper spray & I never reached for it ever. I didn’t wear a mask & gave my full name to people who were very angry w/me

@ArthurIzzi I do not claim to know more than my experience. I was the clinical supervisor for a drug treatment center in SF for people on parole & doing county time. I LOVE black culture who were OVERREPRESENTED in the prison industrial complex. I spent yrs of my career advocating for them.
