I’ve gotten a lot of questions about how Lake Lure and the surrounding areas look.
Lake Lure looks beautiful, y’all! It is about 8-10 feet below its pre-Helene water level. But the main road is perfect and businesses are open. A lot of work has been done, and it shows!
Chimney Rock? Businesses are open there too! It’s like a miracle—especially amidst all the damage that can still be seen.
Please visit! This section of the foothills was devastated by Hurricane Helene, and they depend on our tourism.
This is one vacation you can take that will actually make a difference. 🙏🏼❤️

Both my kids are great swimmers but this isn’t how we taught them. I don’t think this is abuse but it’s also not the way I did it.
I don’t think we can call forcing kids to face fears abuse when there’s no risk. Facing fear is a valuable lesson that apparently most adults have missed… hopefully this kid will now know he can face his fear and come out on top.

As if NC11 is small. Ma'am I ran for a district office. There were 17 counties at the time. It was literally a 4 hour drive from my house to the furthest corner away from me, on two lane mountainous roads-in good traffic.
People have no idea how big these districts can be, until you drive them every weekend and some nights to campaign.

@MargoinWNC Anyone have an idea hiw long it takes to drive from Sampson County to Dare County? At least 3 1/2 hours if good traffic. It takes less time to drive New Bern to Raleigh. Poor Congressman Murphy trying represent us all! Big job!
