So if you're playing in a trusted/private server, or singleplayer, you're fine. Still, update the mod tho, just to be safe.
It doesn't matter if you make a clarification in the pinned comment to update the mod. The thumbnail and title are still misleading and caused panic.

Shameless clickbait aside, fearmongering is a very low strategy to gain views. Not only that the vulnerability is patched so you only need to update the mod, you also only get the virus if you join the servers that are exploiting this vulnerability.
