The savage attack on Rachel Muthoni, a Kikuyu woman from Kasarani who is currently fighting for her life at Uzima Uhai Hospital, is an act of pure barbarism and moral depravity that deserves the strongest possible condemnation. Pouring petrol on a human being and setting her on fire because of a tattoo expressing her political support for President William Ruto and the slogan "Kumi bila break, Ruto Tena" is not politics it is attempted murder driven by primitive thuggery and intolerance. This is evil, cowardly, and utterly unacceptable in any civilized society. Those three young men who allegedly carried out this heinous crime must be arrested immediately, prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and punished severely as a deterrent to all political goons. No one absolutely no one should ever face violence, let alone such a horrific fiery assault, for exercising their democratic right to support a leader or political choice. Political differences, even passionate ones, must never descend into tribal gatekeeping, intimidation, or lethal mob justice. This attack shames everyone who tolerates or excuses such violence in the name of "loyalty" to any politician or ethnic bloc.The attempt to turn Mt. Kenya into a zone where citizens must "worship" one figure or face death is dangerous extremism that threatens Kenya's unity and democracy. History shows that when communities police thought and punish dissent with violence, everyone eventually loses. Kenyans of all tribes Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Luo, Luhya, and others have the absolute right to support whoever they choose without fear of being burned alive. We demand:Swift and thorough investigation by the police. Justice for Muthoni and her family. Public condemnation from all political leaders, especially those with influence in the region. An end to the culture of political violence and impunity. This barbaric act must be rejected with zero tolerance. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rachel Muthoni for full recovery. May her attackers face the full wrath of the law, and may this horror awaken Kenyans to reject violence in all its forms, regardless of which side it comes from. Enough is enough. Political support is a personal choice, not a death sentence.
