May 9th, 1885 Today we tried our first attack on Batoche, It went very badly as half our men did not hear the signal to charge. #NWestRebel

May 1885, I have received word of a First Nations ambush at Cut Knife Hill. We lost many men to wounds. #NWestRebel

April 1885, Today we were ambushed by the Metis at Fish Creek. We lost 9 men and 50 were wounded. This has been a major setback. #NWestRebel

April 1885, We have finally have gotten close to the #NWestRebel. Me and 850 men are going to Batoche while the rest are fighting elsewhere.
