Great Backend Engineers start with the basics of backend engineering.
I have covered the basics on my all-in-one resources to learn backend engineering; I'm working on
It covers:
- Internet
- HTTP
- Servers
- Web Dev fundamentals
- Fundamentals of Operating Systems
- Server-side languages
- Frameworks
I just added:
- Git and GitHub
- Rust Essentials
- Go Essentials
- JavaScript Essentials
- Node.js Essentials
- API and API Design
- ExpressJS Ultimate Guide
- NestJS Ultimate Guide
- Laravel Ultimate Guide
- Gin Ultimate Guide
- Spring Boot Ultimate Guide
- Django Ultimate Guide
- AdonisJS Ultimate Guide
This is the basic and boring part of backend engineering. Don't worry. We are getting into the fun part soon.
I will give this some rounds of editing and upload it soon.
Follow me. Retweet. Comment "Backend". I will DM you.

@mikhail_b_ @UpTheIrons1978 @natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I actually kind of like this.
English

@UpTheIrons1978 @natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @chevas @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I prefer per project pricing. I estimate how much time this project will take and multiply the number of hours with my per hour rate.
Also additionally I multiply the total sum by the coefficient in which the time for edits and communication is set ( usually 1.2 - 1.3 ).

Back again. How do you price your websites ? Per project or hourly ? What affects the final price when you send your quote/proposal ?
@natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @chevas @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp
English

@UpTheIrons1978 @natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @chevas @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I rarely quote projects hourly anymore.
I focus on using a value pricing model, so I’m asking: How much is this worth to my client? Then basing my price around that.
I strive to maintain an “effective hourly rate” above $125 for my consulting work. It’s usually $125-200.

@andrehaykaljr @solilokyle This is actually important.
Take off your shoes, watch how you run naturally. It will not be heel striking.
But you need shoes for pavement, so mimic your natural form when the shoes are on. 👍
English

@solilokyle I’m not sure tbh, I’ll pay more attention to that on my next run

@DeniTechh One bootcamp is publishing on their website results of graduate surveys—more than half tried teaching themselves before trying a bootcamp.
A good online learning program will hit these marks.

A late one today. Tailwind or not Tailwind ? If yes, how do u Tailwind in WP ? If no, why ?

@TheJackForge @natmiletic @fatigue_x @KevinNaughtonJr The fserves.
Everything I wanted at my fingertips.
After an entire night of downloading.
Don’t pick up the phone.

@UpTheIrons1978 @travissw_me @natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I have 100s of business procedures in a Notion table. I just turn on the share to web feature for a specific procedure and send it.

What do u use for documenting to client/editors how to use the WP website and all its features (add proper image sizes...) ? (Thanks @travissw_me
for the hint)
@natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @chevas @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp
English

@iansvo @UpTheIrons1978 @natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I thought this as well after I commented.
Custom themes are the “luxury” version and I’m fine with that personally.
English

@chevas @UpTheIrons1978 @natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I’d argue we’ve been the minority the whole time. With how many sites are powered by WP most are low/no code

The path is clear. Like it or not. FSE is the future of WP. What do u think ? did u try it or not ? did u build something with it to test it out ? Pro/Cons ?
@natmiletic @igorbenic @CSDevAr @chevas @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp
English

@natmiletic @UpTheIrons1978 @igorbenic @CSDevAr @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp Lol what? Haha
English

@UpTheIrons1978 @igorbenic @CSDevAr @chevas @iansvo @mgaak1dev @andrewhoyer @charafmrah @palmiak_fp I use Windows, MacOS, and Ubuntu 😅

Easy on Saturday: which is your Operating System while developing with WordPress ? How many did u try before deciding the best fit for you ? Why ?
