Standards of Championship teams: 1/8 Every championship team has talent. That's obvious: But to win championships year after year? 2/8 That’s an identity that is bigger than any individual player. 3/8 When an athlete commits to be being part of a championship program, he isn’t joining a team. 4/8 He is joining a standard. The standard doesn’t lower for anyone. And because of that, everyone rises. 5/8 The hardest moment in building a championship culture is the first time you hold the standard for your best player. That's when it becomes real. Or it doesn't. 6/8 Multiple championship winning teams hold the standard for their best players. Every time. Without exception. The team sees it. They get it. 7/8 That consistency is what championships are actually made of. 8/8 Multiple titles. None of them are won on game day. They are all won in the months and years before anyone is watching.

💥Coach Franklin just dropped the recipe for winning. Take 45 seconds to read this. ⬇️⬇️ 🔥Then commit to living it.

I've consulted with over 1,000 football programs across 44 states in 25 seasons. I’ve had 100’s of championship clients. And I’ve had some that simply “never got it”. The single biggest mistake I see in almost all of them is the same one. 1/5 They spend 90% of their preparation time on what they're going to do — and almost no time on who's going to do it. 2/5 X's and O's without character development is a house built on sand. You can have the best scheme in the country and lose to inferior talent every single time. The programs that win consistently — decade after decade — are not the ones with the best plays. They're the ones with the deepest culture. 3/5 Culture is built in the offseason. In the weight room at 5am. In how coaches treat the backup the same as the starter. In what happens when nobody is watching. 4/5 I've watched programs with half the talent win championships because the culture was unbreakable. I've watched loaded rosters fall apart when it mattered most. 5/5 1,000 programs. 44 states. One consistent truth: Culture eats scheme for breakfast every time. 4/7 The programs that win consistently — decade after decade — are not the ones with the best plays. Found this gem today: “I Desperately Want To Be Coached” — Aaron Rodgers on QB decision-making under Mike McCarthy in Green Bay There’s three senses as a QB we talk about. 1. No premeditated decisions. 2. Don’t make a blind throw, confirm coverage elements. 3. Don’t throw it late down the middle. si.com/nfl/2015/09/09…

Seeing FB Coaches getting suspended and teams losing opportunities for post season play. There are a numbers of great HS programs across this country. However, if you can not be ethical you are doing a disservice to the program, school and community which you serve. JMO

If your decisions are controlled by how people see you, you are not free. Albert Camus understood that real conviction often requires standing apart from the crowd. You are performing when approval becomes the priority. Real leadership requires the willingness to disappoint people when necessary. The mission cannot survive image management. Strong leaders choose principle over perception.

Most defenses don’t fail because they lack calls. They fail because players aren’t prepared for the situations that decide games. 3rd down. Red zone. Sudden change. 2-minute. No Free Yards: Win the Situation is a deep dive into how defensive coaches structure, practice, and call situational football.
