@Genetix_265 You don't understand what the black market is and why it exists. Like I said, it will be the same little Forex, but it will become available to everyone due to price. Why is there no black market for iPhones in Malawi? Does that mean we have no "shortage" of iPhones?

@katswiri123 I agree, komanso the price of everything else is determined by supply and demand osati boma. Even tomato prices amapanga fluctuate. Let's do the same for Forex. The official rate should always mirror the BM rate, that's the only way of killing the black market.

You think devaluation would not hurt the ordinary Malawian? How? With devaluation everything would go up and the ordinary Malawian’s income would not match. The connected rat will still get forex at an official rate and black market rate would also go up so same advantage.

Devaluing the kwacha will not hurt ordinary Malawians. Ndife ovulazika kale. It will hurt a few connected rats who have access to dollars at the fake official rate.
