The boys would be better off running their own training sessions. Just make all of next week a captain's run. At least then they might play with a hint of creativity and maybe sneak in a smile or two.

If there was hypothetically a spin off rugby format that emphasised more forward strengths what would it be?

You've identified an act contrary to law and one you dont want to happen, tried to manage the players to stop the behavior verbally, if the verbals don't work then use your whistle.

When you're telling players to stop behavior at ever breakdown without a penalty, players know they are free to infringe and slow the ball down. Watch the game back, see how many times he does this and it then results in a defensive turnover.
