A Milwaukee man shot his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend while the woman was picking up their 1-year-old son. Malik Roberson faces one count of first-degree reckless injury while using a dangerous weapon and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety while using a dangerous weapon. According to a criminal complaint, the victim a 26-year-old Milwaukee man told detectives at the hospital that he had been shot by Roberson. The victim said he and his girlfriend had driven to Roberson’s home to pick up the 1-year-old boy the woman shares with her ex-boyfriend. The victim was driving, with his girlfriend in the front passenger seat and their 2-month-old son in the back. When they pulled up, the woman texted Roberson that they were out front. Roberson then approached the car holding a revolver and pointed it at them, the victim said. He tried to duck and glanced back at his infant son just as he heard a gunshot and realized he had been hit in the shoulder. The victim then drove himself to the hospital. The woman told investigators she began recording video on her cellphone as Roberson fired two shots toward the car. One bullet struck the hood; the other passed through the windshield and hit the victim in his right shoulder. Investigators reviewed the footage, which captures the woman screaming, “My baby’s in this car!” as the two shots are fired at the vehicle.
