Andrew, comparing a protest chant against the IDF to the Holocaust isn’t just wrong — it’s a disgraceful insult to Holocaust victims and survivors. The Holocaust was a systematic, industrial genocide that murdered 6 million Jews and millions of Roma, disabled people, Poles, LGBTQ+ individuals and others targeted purely for who they were, not for political protest, military occupation, or armed conflict. The IDF, by contrast, is: •Under investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged war crimes, including the deliberate starvation of civilians. •Accused by the UN Commission of Inquiry of committing the crime against humanity of extermination. •Responsible for over 56,000 Palestinian deaths since October 2023 more than half of them women and children. •Linked to the killing of 44+ civilians queuing for food, with 500+ killed near aid sites. Even the IDF’s own military advocate has launched a probe into these actions. Calling a protest chant “Death to the IDF” offensive is one thing. Equating it to Nazism or a “second Holocaust” is something else entirely and it cheapens the very memory you claim to defend.
