I hear what you are saying and agree with some things. However there is only one government at a time and the parliament has passed the law. What you and the PNP must now do is pivot and shift accountability and oversight to ground level and stop griping. The Opposition should set up a publicly named independent oversight board of about 7 persons and build a tight network of representatives from affected communities. Second, the board is keep on top of the data, provide real time analysis to inform the parliamentary advocacy and public press conferences. In short the Opposition should create a NaRRA nerve center. Let’s see how serious the Opposition is as this requires organizational work and funding. If the Opposition puts in the work then Holness and the JLP will have to swim or sink. JLP’s 4th term is umbilically linked to the work and track record of NaRRA. If NaRRA is enmeshed in corruption and cronyism your job is to flush out the information, sound the alarm on a timely basis and expose the rot. The Opposition must now pivot.

@mamachell My simple response is that the 1PM should steadfastly proceed to get the work of reconstruction done in a transparent & accountable way asap. What’s in the past should remain in the past. That’s history which can be forgotten when the reconstruction work is satisfactorily done.

At about 3:39, the Chair intervenes and says, "But he has answered inuh. Him seh the Board took the..." At this point, on my count, the witness had thrice responded to MP Clarke's questions by saying the Board took the decision. Embarassing.

I think what people are missing in the AG report is that the unspent and unaccounted Hurricane funds go as far back as Hurricane BERYL. Of course we will hear it’s red tape preventing xyz NOT incompetence

The very next day, the Minister overturned it and reappointed the previous acting CEO. When asked if this was improper? The Permanent Secretary said: “I couldn’t answer… I did not know for a fact that the minister appointed the CEO.” The Board Chair wasn’t even told. He found out the Minister planned to reappoint the old CEO in a private meeting, then resigned. And what happened after? The Minister dissolved the entire Board. This isn’t governance. It’s political interference. Boards are being sidelined, processes ignored, and accountability thrown out the window.
