🇦🇹 Almost half of muslim immigrant youth in Austria believe that their religious rules are above the law
A new Vienna-commissioned study reveals that 41% of Muslim immigrant youth (aged 14–24) believe Islamic religious rules take precedence over Austrian national law.
- 64% of respondents agreed that Islamic rules govern all aspects of daily life and must be strictly observed.
- 53% of participants believe that every Muslim woman should wear a headscarf in public spaces.
- 39% of those surveyed expressed that all people should follow the rules of Islam.
- 43% of the young respondents hold Western nations responsible for the current crises facing the Islamic world.
According to data published by Die Presse, Muslims now constitute up to 49% of all public school students in Vienna, outnumbering Catholics (17%), Orthodox Christians (14%), and non-affiliated students (23%).
