"Into the Groove" was released in 1985 (track from the film Desperately Seeking Susan and single that became Madonna's first UK #1). On July 13, 1985, she took the stage at Live Aid in Philadelphia (JFK Stadium) and delivered one of the most iconic performances in the festival's history.

Outkast - Ms. Jackson Andre 3000 composed the track as a sincere apology to Erykah Badu's mother (from whom he had just separated). She loved the song and said it was sweet and honest.

"(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)" is from the Beastie Boys' debut album Licensed to Ill (1986), the first rap album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200. It was written in just 5 minutes (on a paper napkin) as a parody of the idiotic 80s fraternity party anthems (like "Smokin' in the Boys Room" or "I Wanna Rock"). Rick Rubin produced, put on heavy guitar and drums and turned what was a joke into a banger. It reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 (peak on March 7, 1987, the only top 10 of their career) and #11 on the UK Singles Chart. On the same day as the Hot 100 peak, the album reached #1 on the Billboard 200.
