look I understand it can be annoying when a large number of people are happy about the same thing at the same time, but I swear to god a new edition of a difficult novel about the inherent fascism in man’s psyche is not the same as like, Geese blowing up and playing SNL.

a great book is reissued, and most readers celebrate, except a contingent of reactionaries who must hate all that is celebrated, for that is how they know themselves to be special, unique, and above the masses. never mind the fact they have not read the book.
