This morning I captured the third-ever interstellar comet, #3IATLAS , just one day after its closest approach to Earth! This incredible cosmic visitor was discovered on July 1, 2025, by NASA's ATLAS survey, and its hyperbolic orbit confirms it's truly from outside our Solar System, possibly billions of years old and hailing from another star system. It reached perihelion around October 30, 2025, at about 1.4 AU (just inside Mars' orbit), and passed safely by Earth on December 19 at roughly 1.8 AU (170 million miles away). Gear Used: Telescope: SvBony SV550 122mm APO Camera: ToupTek ATR3CMOS 26000KMA Mount: Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro Filters: Scorpio RGB Total integration time: 1 hour 36 minutes.

Here is a picture of The Lion Nebula (Sh2-132) I captured using a budget refractor telescope - SvBony SV503 70ED.
