That said, VAR is not solely to blame for the bonkers refereeing at Portman Road today. But I suspect it does have something to do with the widespread and clear dip in refereeing performances at the highest level. Officials are hiding behind VAR and it’s ruining football. #itfc

Football has completely missed the mark when it comes to using technology to ‘assist’ referees. Hawk-Eye works for cricket because it removes the need for conjecture. VAR does nothing more than give another human being a ‘best guess’ at what happened. #epl #fifa #fa #var
