Why do so many Jewish people take criticism of the Israeli government as an attack on them? It's really bizarre and no other race does this Are they/you taught from a young age that criticism of Israel means you hate Jews?

The clash of civilisations rhetoric ramping up all around here is making me feel actually nauseous. Humans are capable of unimaginably barbaric acts. Some types of religious or political fundamentalism license unimaginably barbaric acts. Some systems of colonisation and exploitation license unimaginably barbaric acts. Human history tells us that peoples of all colours and creeds have been capable of this kind of barbarism. The minute you start claiming that anyone 'deserves' to be subject to human barbarism you have lost your humanity. And you have also lost your humanity the minute you start claiming that 'we' are civilised and 'they' are barbarians. It is never okay to dehumanise any group of people. Never.

A man pretending to be a woman kidnapped and assaulted a girl at his house for two days and there are still women saying we should respect pronouns to be nice. Is that the advice they would have given this girl? They are *all* a safeguarding failure. Suffraggettes colours and all

All her earnest explanations of how “mobbing” works is in effect a ‘confession’ of her behaviour towards Stock. She’s expressing a need to atone for that - although she may not know it.

Pop psychology theory: Christa is defending Lucy Letby out of repressed guilt for her part in creating a mob that convinced itself of Kathleen Stock’ s guilt, and persecuted her accordingly.

@stephenwhittle It’s not about whether women are happy to accept male nurses (or gynaecologists). It’s about whether women have a right to single sex care provision.

When you need surgery would you insist on only men or women in theatre? It is almost certainly not possible due to staff shifts. Most women are happy with a male nurse. Any doubts, you can ask for a chaperone. The queen mother ‘s gynaecologist for years was a trans woman.

@stephenwhittle If you were discriminated against for being female the Equality Act would still protect you. That legal protection would not be ‘discrimination’.

@stephenwhittle This is all because the law failed to recognise same sex marriages or legal partnerships. Nothing to do with you being a ‘father’. We have equal marriage now - so people in same sex relationships (like you) have these rights.

Isn’t it clear by now that Christa has some psychological issues? Both a fear of being, and a desire to be, demonised. Engaging with her is not helping her.

Acting in a feminine way doesn’t make anyone (male or female) a woman, obviously. What’s interesting is why so many people think it does.

@stephenwhittle @MForstater It’s hard to read what you’re saying any other way. If male privilege defines the world, you’d rather have some of that for yourself - than suffer the inevitable disadvantage of being seen to be female.

1. You know the answer - you get up & present Maya to the world, I present Stephen. It isn’t about what we look like. Many choose or need to look different in different settings - at a club, school, work, lounging in the back yard, washing dishes or fixing the blocked sink waste.
