I’m going to be an acute medic!! 🥹 Absolutely thrilled to have been offered an ST4 post in the EoE. To find out today whilst working in the very same unit that I first fell in love with the speciality as an FY1 feels very fitting. 🥰 #MedTwitter #Acutemedicine

Great time as usual at the SAM conference this week. Great to teach some ultrasound, catch up with colleagues and talk about some work we’ve been up to. #SAMontheCam

@KashCheema26 Geographically where are you looking? I know a department likely recruiting to acute med trust reg posts in EoE

A lovely morning today receiving my Coronation Medal plus a great day of delivering training for our Young Leaders. Finished the day off bowling with the acute med team. Now to hide from the weather!

Honoured to present Georgia with her King’s Coronation Medal at Young Leader training. It was super to be presented it alongside Explorers and Squirrel Scouts meeting today in the same place as Georgia started Scouting. @stambournescout @scouts

@mrseleanorohara A few of us used this. I’ve also been massively underpaid. Now trying to sort it! doctorspaycheck.com/uplift/

@zackferguson This is great Zack, I wish I could have read something like this last year! It would have helped a lot with the anxiety that I had during the application cycle. I’m sure plenty will benefit from it this time. And I love the graphics!

For the benefit of anyone applying for ST4 Acute Medicine this year, I’ve done a little bit of a deep dive on Comp Ratios and Fill Rates. Hopefully it helps alleviate some anxiety

@zackferguson Great thanks! So good to finally be a proper member of the acute med family 😃 Was very sad to miss Brighton though!
English

@zackferguson @take__AIM @acutemedicine I applied in the last round 1 and there ended up being a lot fewer posts than expected
English

Working on a blog about competition ratios for the @take__AIM website and a little puzzled:
When calculating the comp ratio, AIM had 85 posts in England, but when calculating the fill rate, AIM had 69 posts in England. Why the discrepancy? Does anyone in @acutemedicine know?

If one can’t be at #SAMBrighton…
This is a not a bad alternative place to be.

My twitter feed is entirely #SAMBrighton and it’s brilliant!

Finished nights this morning and with that….IMT is done. 🎉🎉 Another few years flown by. There have obviously been ups and downs but I’ve actually really enjoyed my time as an IMT. I’ve learned a heck of a lot and feel ready and raring for ST4. 😃 #acutemed #MedTwitter

@dr_shai @acutemedicine That sounds like a lot of tickets 😂

@Georgia_Kate7 @acutemedicine Triple accreditation for Galloway?!?!
AIM/ICM/PHEM!
English

Acute Medicine and PHEM?!
Honestly never knew this could be a thing. I know those who have dropped out of one, into the other. But not in combination.
Much like AIM and ICM, there are certainly going to be a group of AM trainees that would be interested.

@Plyons251 It is a real stinger 😞 Do other specialties pay for theirs?
