Shoutout to @CodeHawks First Flights for the perfect training ground for new upcoming auditors ! Smashed 3 valid Highs in BriVault and I’m already visualizing this happening in real contests. Just putting in the hours , it’s only a matter of time 🫡

Studying complex protocols and bugs is one of the highest ROI activities. You learn new concepts, push where others give up, and build confidence. Always be learning and don't be intimidated by hard stuff.

What a sad day … i can’t believe c4 is shutting down. Many people i know have built their skills thanks to c4.. I found my first finding there several months ago (Low severity). Probably the OGs that started years ago feel even more sad. Let’s see what’s next 🙏

You're 6 months in with no findings, no audience, no receipts. You feel invisible. Compounding always looks like nothing — until it doesn't. Stay in.

Market at its lowest. Contests slowly dying. Newcomers winnings are impossible. And still - the hope is real. You can still start today, win in this season, and be ready for the next narrative and explosion. When hard times hit, everyone who wasn't prepared starts thinking "that's it, it's over." It's not. You just need to put in more work these days and be ready when the next great season comes. Starting from audit contests, earning small, then growing - it's not as easy as it used to be. More restrictions, rules on how many issues you can submit, what's valid, what's not, bla bla. But one thing stays true - web3 + AI is the space to be in.

Your actions today will determine by the end of the year whether you’ve had a successful year. Take action now instead of waiting for the right moment.

Market’s down, the space feels dead, people are losing jobs to AI, hacks keep happening. what are you doing in times like this? Improving web3 skills, building, networking, or exploring things outside crypto? What do you think is the smartest move during periods like this? 🤔

Everyone knows that the ability to learn fast is one of the best skills to have on the market. Too many forget that as you progress, unlearning is just as important. Remove the waste constantly, shed the old skin to grow into the new, better form. Self-development, daily🫡

There were ~30 hacks in April. Just studying all of them in depth (root cause, context, attack vector, PoC, etc.) will make you an above-average security researcher. Put in the effort and make the space safer.

@Jeyffre Totally agree!!! In traditional software engineering this was also the case - numerous people become ,, engineers,, and then the crisis in tech happened some years later .. Now landing a role is way harder , as it should be no matter web3 or any other tech career ! ✅

I'm glad we can finally be done with this stupid messaging of "Study software engineering/blockchain dev earn $100,000 remotely." And I hope AI keeps it that way. Turning a craft into a get-rich-quick scheme cheapened it and propagated a culture of low expectations (and some entitlement). A market that is hard on juniors is a feature, not a bug. The unserious people should be weeded out. Someone who survives the junior grind shows they have brains and hustle. When I used to put job ads on X, I got so much spam from people who thought completing a course and building an NFT earns them a job. Now I'm even interviewing people who literally say "I'll take a pay cut to do real research work." That is dedication to the craft. To clarify -- wanting to make money is a good thing. But encouraging people to pursue short-term, ephemeral opportunities with the expectation of a quick payout is a waste of human capital. If you're going to learn how to code/do web3 dev, do it because you love the craft or because there is something meaningful you want to build (yes, knowing how to code makes you a lot better at vibecoding).

Auditing tip for every beginner to intermediate security researchers: Always set specific goals for every auditing block. For example: > understand the protocol on a high level > deep dive only in the liquidation mechanism > check all external calls for reentrancy

@MaxAllTaken @cvetanovv0 That advice is good actually and applies to people which are way below junior level. For the ones that are super super new . Everyone has to start from somewhere right ? Very useless comment ✅

One way to continuously practice your Web 3 security skills is to have an AI write smart contracts with hidden bugs, then find them.

Being a first-mover has 0 advantage by itself. Doing a correct decision after correct decision and having the right metrics to confirm is the forever advantage. For example, when it comes to AI security, I did not move first. But then me and my team launched multiple security Skills, started working with AI security experts and figured out how to utilise the tech to the fullest. This is just the beginning. A big team of good guys is working towards catching the most and the best vulnerabilities with their security work. Join us on our mission - do your best🫡
