I have just recently found John Williams' First Violin Concerto on CD after reading about it in his biography. It's a fantastic piece of music. Virtuostic, Elegiac and powerful all at once, with great melodies and arranging. Very moving.

@GeraldCmin6 Apologises! There is a service at 13:04 but you would need to change at Motherwell or the 13:55 you would need to change at Crewe.

@nationalrailenq My daughter is due to travel from London Euston to Glasgow Central tomorrow about 3:30pm on Avanti. Should she get her scheduled train and change at Motherwell?

@nationalrailenq Further back up this thread I was told that there was one at 13:04 and one at 13:55, but if it's just 13:55 we'll have to go for that. Does that require change at Crewe?

@GeraldCmin6 Looking at live departure boards for today the only service going to London Euston around that time is 13:55. Do you mean this service?

@nationalrailenq It looks like she'll have to change at Crewe. What will the final destination be of the 13:08 from Glasgow, so she can work out exactly which train to get on quickly?

Thank you, it wont be showing due to the cancellation. If your daughter held an advanced ticket for that service then their ticket would be valid on the next one immediately before or after, so either of the two listed above in my earlier reply to you. If the ticket is an off-peak with no route restrictions that travel would be valid on any services. As advice for tomorrow may change (it's unlikely but may do so) I'd advise informing your daughter of the following link and to check here before travel incase anything is amended regarding services nationalrail.co.uk/service-disrup…

@GeraldCmin6 Thanks for confirming that, I can't see a 13:35 service for tomorrow, there is a 13:04 and 13:55 that are showing as running, is it either of these?

@nationalrailenq My daughter is due to come back from Glasgow tomorrow at 13:35. I don't think this train is running from Glasgow Central. Can she use her ticket on another train? If so what is the closest departure time to this that is running?

@Mykuhl Great innings, great prospect. It wasn't a test though was it?

I've just seen the scorecard of the Otago vs Northern game. Tom O'Connor scored more runs in the test than his dad scored in his test career.

@nationalrailenq It's now confirmed closed until at least Sunday. She's actually on the 13:30 from Euston tomorrow. Am I correct in thinking that is one of the trains actually going all the way to Glasgow Central?

@GeraldCmin6 Hello Gerald, while the disruption is currently expected to last until the end of today, I suggest that if it hasn't completed by tomorrow that is the best route for your daughter to travel.

@Mark0Connell Horse Under Water, the sequel the Ipcress File is one of the best spy thrillers I've ever read.

Len Deighton didn't just detail the flipside of Bond. He was an equal literary king on the espionage chess board who yielded two of the best spy movies, compounded Caine's star power, and how British cool presents itself to this day. Rest in peace, Len Deighton. #RIPLenDeighton

I believe that children in England were routinely vaccinated against Meningitis in Year 10/11 until lockdowns in 2020. I heard that this had happened and had my son (20 now) vaccinated. Tragically looks like this outbreak could be another victim of Covid sanctions.

Listening to Open Range which despite being one of his last, is one of Michael Kamen's best film scores. It has all his hallmarks, but is very varied with some lovely lyrical cues, some western themed ones with guitar and fiddle and some action cues. R.I.P.

Tori Amos very good value this morning on @BBC6Music. I think she surprised Mark Radcliffe with her knowledge of English premiership football & was very funny, as well as an astonishingly high level of musicianship & great song writer. I'm looking forward to seeing her RAH gig.

@shortflyslip His father had far too short a test career for NZ. Let's hope Tom lines up to this promise and established himself for a long time. We could do with a strong left armer.
