🚨 This is the damning pattern that proves Andy Burnham is not the saviour of Labour — he is the ultimate institutional coward who has spent his entire career commissioning reviews, expressing “anger,” and then burying every scandal that ever landed on his desk.
Mid Staffordshire: As Health Secretary he personally rubber-stamped Foundation Trust status for a hospital on four lines of information. Between 400 and 1,200 extra patients died. He and Alan Johnson rejected 81 requests for a full public inquiry. When the Francis Report finally exposed systematic failure, Burnham stood in Parliament and blamed the next government for not acting fast enough on the report he had fought to prevent.
Then the grooming gangs. Operation Augusta — a Greater Manchester Police probe into up to 100 predators abusing at least 57 children, some as young as 12 — was quietly closed. Records vanished. Minutes from key meetings disappeared. Burnham’s response to MPs? Supine acceptance of “lack of resources” excuses even though GMP had gained over 1,000 officers during the period. The IOPC couldn’t even work out who killed the investigation because no one would cooperate.
Rochdale? The review he commissioned admitted 96 high-risk men were still walking free as a danger to children. No answers from Burnham on what his mayoralty actually did to track them down or prosecute them.
This is not bad luck.
This is not incompetence.
This is a deliberate, consistent pattern of ambition before accountability. Review, outrage, move on, questions buried. The man who now wants to be the next Labour leader (or at least the next big thing in Makerfield) has built his career on exactly the same evasion culture that let grooming gangs destroy thousands of British girls while the state protected “community relations.”
In two-tier Britain, British children’s lives are expendable. Burnham is the perfect embodiment of that rotten machine: the careerist who stonewalls victims, disappears records, and then rebrands himself as the “man who understands working people.”
Reform UK is already leading in Makerfield polling. Labour lost a raft of seats in Wigan last week. The people are waking up.
The silent majority has had enough of these accountability-dodging Labour lifers treating public office as a shield from consequences.
We demand:
✅ Andy Burnham barred from ever holding high office again — no Makerfield by-election free pass, no path to No. 10.
✅ A full statutory national inquiry into every grooming scandal with criminal charges for every politician and police chief (Burnham included) who covered it up.
✅ Life sentences that actually mean life for the rapists — no more two-tier slaps on the wrist.
✅ Mass deportations for anyone involved in these horrors who isn’t British.
The political class wants to crown him without asking the hard questions.
The British people already know the answers.
